Marketplace Buyer Protection
MotorCircle Marketplace is being designed so buyer payment can be secured before dispatch while seller proceeds remain unavailable until the transaction reaches the appropriate release stage.
Policy version 2026-10-06.1 · MotorCircle MarketplaceThe MotorCircle Trade Store is separate and uses its own sales/returns terms. These pages relate to third-party Marketplace transactions.
Payment and release
When live Marketplace payments are enabled, the buyer will pay at checkout. Seller proceeds will remain pending and will not be released merely because an order has been placed. The seller must record dispatch or collection readiness, and the buyer can confirm receipt. Buyer confirmation moves the transaction into an inspection hold before it becomes eligible for seller release.
An open cancellation, non-delivery, return or not-as-described case overrides normal release eligibility and freezes seller release.
Item not received
A buyer can open an Item not received case if an order has not arrived. The seller may be asked for courier tracking, proof of delivery, dispatch evidence or a MotorCircle collection confirmation. If delivery cannot be reasonably evidenced, the transaction may be refunded.
Not as described, damaged or incomplete
A buyer can report an item that is materially different from the listing, damaged, faulty, the wrong item, or missing significant parts. MotorCircle may request photographs, video, messages, packaging images, tracking information and other relevant evidence from both parties.
Listing snapshot
MotorCircle stores a transaction snapshot of the listing at checkout so a dispute can be compared with what was actually advertised at the time of purchase rather than a later edited listing.
Possible outcomes
A case can result in the transaction continuing, a full refund, an agreed partial refund, a return followed by refund, or another resolution agreed by both parties. MotorCircle may restrict an account where the platform reasonably identifies abuse of the case process.
These are MotorCircle platform rules and process descriptions, not a substitute for legal advice. Applicable statutory rights and legal obligations take priority where they cannot lawfully be excluded or reduced.
